Beatitude House selected to participate in workshop series

by beatitudehouse 15. January 2009 05:02

Beatitude House was selected as one of six organizations to participate in the Mahoning Valley Community Wealth Workshop Series.  The series is an intensive 6-month business planning process designed to assist a select group of high-performing nonprofits as they develop and grow social enterprises to help sustain mission-based programs and services. The series provides technical assistance in the form of peer learning sessions and customized consulting sessions.

The Workshop Series program is facilitated by Community Wealth Ventures, a DC-based consulting firm that focuses on leveraging the power of market-based approaches to drive social change.  Since its launch in 1997, CWV has become the nation's leading consulting firm focused on helping nonprofits design and build revenue-generating ventures with the goal of increasing their financial self-sufficiency and capacity to deliver services.

Beatitude House social enterprise venture team includes Sr. Patricia McNicholas, Executive Director Kelly Elko, Potter's Wheel Director Mary Kohut, Potter's Wheel Career Counselor and Betty Clarke, Beatitude House board member.  Through 6 peer-to-peer learning sessions and 3 customized consulting sessions, Beatitude House will focus on the business idea of a "Green Cleaning Service."
